If you are a DN Eastern Arc customer then you might just want to check your signal strengths as yesterday DN starting moving transponders to the new NIMIQ5 satellite!
Yesterday the following transponders moved to the new bird, 1,5,9,13,17,21,25,29 and tonight the following transponders are scheduled to move to NIMIQ5 as well, 3,7,11,15,19,23,27,31.
The following is comments I have seen posted at a couple of different sites, just posting them here to help out members that possibly might want to test this new sat and need information on it.
"can now lock Transponders 1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, 25, and 29 in Northern California"
Another has said "Well it is 5:55 am central time and ALL transponders are now strong in the 70s range 70-78.
As well I have included the original DN application document for the purpose of reference only in that it gives details in the document as to how many transponders and channels are intended to be used, or for general knowledge for the membership as well concerning this new satalite.

No, you need an HD receiver with 8psk module to get this satellite.
The only CW's that fit that are the CW3K and 4K with Skywalker.

actually, yes this originally was going to have BEV programming but Dik decided they wanted the whole thing. No BEV on Nimiq 5.
